  • Collecting payments on-site and online

The Tallie Workflow

Invoices are a key step in the Tallie pipeline:

Estimate → Approval → Job → Completion → Invoice → Payment

Once you complete a job, you create an invoice for the work performed, send it to your client, and collect payment. It’s that simple.

Why Invoicing Matters

Getting paid on time is the lifeblood of your business. Tallie helps you:

  • Look professional - Clean, branded invoices that reflect your business
  • Get paid faster - Email invoices directly to clients with payment links
  • Stay organized - Track what’s owed, what’s paid, and what’s outstanding
  • Save time - Create invoices from completed jobs with all details pre-filled

How It Works

  1. Complete a job - Mark the job as completed when the work is done
  2. Create an invoice - From the job detail page, click Create Invoice to generate an invoice with all the job details pre-filled
  3. Review and customize - Adjust line items, add discounts or taxes, set a due date
  4. Send to your client - Email the invoice directly from Tallie
  5. Collect payment - Track payments as they come in

You can also create standalone invoices from the Invoices page if you need to bill for something outside the normal job flow.

What About Deposits?

Deposits are handled separately from invoices. When you create an estimate, you can include a deposit request. The client pays the deposit before work begins, and it’s tracked on the estimate. Invoices are for billing after the work is done.

Invoice Statuses

Every invoice has a status that tells you where it stands:

StatusWhat It Means
DraftInvoice is being prepared, not yet sent to the client
SentInvoice has been emailed to the client
PartialClient has made a partial payment
PaidInvoice is paid in full
VoidInvoice has been cancelled and is no longer valid

Quick Stats Dashboard

The Invoices page shows you key numbers at a glance:

  • Total Invoices - All invoices you’ve created
  • Outstanding - Total amount owed to you (sent + partial)
  • Paid - Total amount you’ve collected
  • Total Value - Combined value of all invoices
